Litigation Funding in the U.S.: Practice and Theory

Joshua P. Davis is a full professor and Director of the Center for Law and Ethics at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He writes, among other areas, on class action ethics, class action procedure, artificial intelligence and law, antitrust (competition) law, antitrust (competition) class actions, and free speech law. His published writing on private antitrust enforcement has won an award from George Washington University School of Law and he has been named a California antitrust lawyer of the year for his work on a successful appeal to the California Supreme Court in an antitrust action. Before joining the law faculty of the University of San Francisco he was a partner at Lieff, Cabraser, Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, and a law clerk to the Honorable Patrick Higginbotham of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
